Phat Matt's IPA

Phat Matt's Brewery is located in Redmond, Oregon. This is the first time I've noticed their beer showing up on shelves, so I'm assuming they are relatively new to the game. Either way, I sort of like their no bullshit approach to labeling: just a green background, the logo, and the name of the beer. Now, as for the beer? Here's what they say about it:

"Deep chestnut in colour this British style IPA offers a straight forward, no-nonsense approach to a classic style of beer. At 7% ABV and 64 IBU’s the late hop additions contribute floral and pine aroma’s that make this Matt’s personal favourite. The hop profile is not overpowering, starting crisp and fresh and building to a mellow, bitter finish. A generous dry hop emphasizes a green hop accent with an enjoyable aroma."

What do I say about it? Not nearly hoppy enough to be considered an IPA. This tasted more like an ale, which I do enjoy, but what I enjoy even more is a tight-hopped IPA that makes your taste buds tingle. It says 64 IBU's, but there wasn't any bitterness to this beer whatsoever. I think I'll pass on this one next time.
